1. How many guests can the venue comfortably accommodate for seated dining versus standing receptions?

Our 7000+ square foot hall can comfortably seat 500 people in banquet style or up to 1000 people in theater style.

2. What are the seating arrangements like?

We can provide seating arrangements designed as 5 ft round tables for 8 people with padded chairs.

3. Is there a lobby and free parking?

The hall is supported by a nice lobby area (400 people) and restrooms. The parking area is available for all events at no extra charge. Parking is subject to parking signs and regulations.

4. Do you have a stage?

Yes, we have a large stage with dressing areas.

5. Do you have a kitchen onsite?

We have a full kitchen ready to serve up to 1000 people. We do not allow outside cooking in our kitchen.

6. Do I have to use your kitchen for catering?

Our kitchen can handle all your catering needs and has a vast menu to offer. If our menu does not fit your requirements, you can use outside catering (there is a charge to use external catering).
Any outside caterer must have a valid food permit, and no one will be allowed in the hall unless the VPSS representative has a copy of their liability insurance and food permit.

7. Are there any restrictions on serving specific food or drinks?

Alcohol, meat, and eggs distribution or consumption on VPSS property is strictly prohibited.

8. How much does it cost to rent and is there a deposit?

Please inquire using the email or phone numbers above for current rates and availability.
A deposit of $2500 is required upon signing all rental agreements.

9. What is included in the cost of Hall Rental?

Hall rental includes:

  • Use of the Vallabh Hall and Food Service area

  • Tables and chairs

  • Food warmers (free standing)

  • Ice machines

  • Coolers

10. What is the cancellation policy?
  • If the renter cancels within 3 months of the event, the deposit will be forfeited and retained by VPSS.

  • If the renter cancels more than 3 months before the event, the deposit will be refunded after deducting a $100 administrative fee.

  • If the event is cancelled by VPSS due to reasons beyond their control, the deposit is fully refundable

11. Can I bring my own DJ or decorator?

Yes, you can bring your own DJ or decorator.
The renter hired caterer or decorator must have liability insurance (limits of $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate, covering bodily injury, property damage, and personal/advertising injury).
VPSS must be added to their insurance for the event.

12. Are there any rules on outside decorations?

Outside decorations are allowed provided there are no staples, thumb tacks, or nails on the walls.
No painting of walls is allowed.
All surplus chairs and tables must remain in the hall or in storage and not exposed to the elements.

13. Are there any smoking areas in the facility?

According to the Smoke Free Places By-law of the City of Houston, the entire hall and associated areas such as washrooms, serving area, and VPSS premises are smoke-free public places.
By decision of the VPSS, no smoking is permitted within 10 meters outside of the main (front) entrance to the premises.
